We are farmers, ranchers, and land owners who contribute to the Ag Community of Greene County.
We run dairies, raise crops, grow hay, raise livestock, and provide for our community and beyond with ag-related operations.
We are your neighbors, your friends, and your family.
WHAT WE DO
We are Greene County TN Ag!
This group came together after people in our community began a campaign to "Save Greene County" from development.
We agree! In Greene County we've watched an average of 700 acres annually over the last 10-years disappear into housing developments and commercial buildings.
We know that this brings jobs and generates government budgets that can improve the community. However, there must be a healthy balance that preserves our farmland and agricultural roots.
"Save Greene County" group believes that changing zoning laws will stop us from selling our farmland to developers instead of to other farmers. But to make sure we, as landowners, submit to their will - they want certain Ag-related businesses and agritourism ventures rezoned for higher taxation, limited access, and fewer property rights.
