Fighting for Greene County TN Farmers

We're excited to have this opportunity to meet new and reconnect with old friends across the county!

The Ag community here has witnessed a lot of change over the years, but nothing like we've experienced in the last few years!

And, that is why this group of citizens with roots in agriculture came together! We are losing an average of 700 acres of farmland in Greene County annually, and have for the last 10 years.

As farmers and ranchers, we know all too well how operation costs impact our ability to continue our passion and build our legacy. If we are to survive the current rate of inflation, the increasing property taxes, and the overall daily expenses of producing on our land, we have to be imaginative and creative!

If not, we may very well lose the ability to maintain our farmland. For some of us, that is a lot of family history we'll lose. For others, we're first-generation farmers trying to join a dwindling club of America's backbone of farmers and ranchers.

We have grown tired of being accused of being greedy landowners when our operations simply can't produce a decent living. We've nearly reached the end of our rope with being overlooked by community members when they drive past our farmer's markets and roadside stands to shop at big chain grocery stores.

But we continue to support this community of Greene County because it is our home and we love it!

Now we have a small group forming within the community that wants to see the rezoning of Ag lands. Their intentions are good, but their execution of a plan to "Save Greene County" targets us, the land owners in the ag community -- the very fabric of Greene County since its founding.

We're coming together to be a strong voice of opposition to these zoning changes. We disagree with "controlling" how we can operate and, if ever necessary, who we can sell our land to and for how much we can sell it.

We hope you'll attend some of the meetings, stay up to speed via the Facebook group, and be by our side at Commission Meetings each month until this is resolved and our property rights are left alone. We are Fighting for Greene County TN Farmers!

ABOUT US >

We are a group of Greene County farmers and ranchers that stand for the individual and property rights of all agri-businesses county-wide.
Farmers should be able to do what it takes to support their families and preserve their farms and traditions for years to come.

Due to proposed rezoning proposals in Greene County, farmers may face restrictions in how their land is used or to whom they might sell it to, should that day ever come.
We stand for freedom to choose how our lands are operated and how our legacy is continued.

Join us to learn of options that can preserve our farmlands AND maintain our personal property rights to manage our lands as stewards and owners.
